These have the same inside diameter as the plastic bandettes and spirals. Use a needle nose plier to open before placing on the bird's leg and a regular plier to close the band around the bird's leg. Butt-End Band Applicators are also available (each size band requires its own applicator).

Identify your chicks with one or multiple color combinations. Have more than 6 different breeds or varieties that need to be told apart, double band on one leg or 2.
Baby Poultry Chick Leg Bands are soft much like silicone and stretch like a rubber band. Bands are made from a medical grade, non-toxic, plastic (elastic-plastic). They are not made with rubber but stretch like them.

Please read!! These bands will work fine. Be aware though, these are not our normal wide-cut stretchy bands. They are a thinner cut width and do not stretch as far. They will look small for their size but once stretched they will stay at the size on the package. They are made from a rubber-free product.

Baby Chick Sizing
Choosing a size to start with:
Small: Equal to a size 3 (3/16" DIA) Day olds; Seramas, small bantams, Call Ducks, and small game birds. After 3 weeks or so, they graduate to a Size 4.
Medium: would be equal to a size 4 (1/4" DIA) Are for standard-size day old chicks, ducks, light geese, and the next size up from the Size 3 used on bantams and small poultry.
Large: would be equal to a size 5 (5/16" DIA) for either Large day old poultry such as heavy geese or birds that have grown out of the Size 4.
XLarge: Are equal to a size 6 (3/8" DIA. They are used as the last size before a permanent band is applied. They can also be used to tag adult bantams for short-term sorting or marked for sale.
